Dr. Jim Roche is in private practice in Burnaby and Vancouver, British Columbia. He holds an MA in Family Therapy (Vermont College), a doctorate in Clinical Psychology (The Union of Experimenting Colleges and Universities), a doctorate in Law (CUNY School of Law) as well as a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (CAGS-Norwich University) in Educational Psychology.

He has worked as a forensic psychologist for New York State, acted as the state's expert witness in criminal and civil cases and has directed the APA internship program at Kirby Forensic Psychiatric Hospital in New York City. Previously he has held academic positions with New York University, Norwich University, Brooklyn College and was a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at New York University Medical Center. He also works as a consultant to the US Department of Defense in the area of soldier and family support services.

In addition to his BC Registration as a psychologist he is a member of the Canadian Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology (CRHSPP) and holds licenses/registration as a Family Therapist (RMT),Independent Clinical Social Worker (Wisconsin), Clinical Membership in AAMFT and in BC he is listed with the British Columbia Mediator Roster Society (Civil Mediator Roster).

Services
Dr. Roche provides a range of counselling, therapy, clinical and forensic services available in English, Japanese and Chinese. In both his Burnaby and Vancouver office he provides a variety of services including counselling, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), behaviour interventions for children, work-place consultation, assessments and diagnostic services for autism, risk assessments and forensic services. Family assessments and evaluations for court related purposes are also available. Additionally he provides consultation services to schools in the Burnaby, Vancouver and New Westminster areas.

Office Information:

Dr. Roche bills at the suggest rates of the BC Psychological Association. Psychological services are usually reimbursable through extended health. He has offices located in Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and Coquitlam. A sliding scale is available for those with limited incomes for some services. Evening and Saturday appointments are available.

Dr. Roche is an approved ACT provider of services for individuals with autism and Asperger's Disorder.
